Message: 8 week countdown begins for the Northwest Quest!

The Host City Committee and the Board have been very busy finalizing details for the Northwest Quest! Check out the Events page on the website (www.series2008.org) - Lots of fun events planned! Make sure your teams purchase their OUT AT SAFECO and STORM tickets soon!

ASANA does their part to "GO GREEN!" For this year's Summer Meetings, we are attempting to go as paperless as possible. All of the documents will either emailed to you in advance or available on the Commissioner's area. Please bring the Bylaws/Codes you received from Winter Meetings as we will NOT be making copies.

Player Database Update: IMPORTANT
As ASANA continues to evolve, we want to ensure that our systems & processes compliment our needs. We have been going back and forth on launching a new database system, but are not quite ready so Kat has been working hard on sending out an Excel-based program for this year. We will continue to work on the database which will be rolled out for Series 2009.

Reminder that the Summer Meetings will take place at the Holiday Inn Renton on Saturday, August 23 & Sunday, August 24. We will be looking at some new ideas for the future and look forward to seeing you all there!
We'll be posting Board Happenings more often so check back!

Message: Hello everyone!
12 weeks and counting until the Northwest Quest! I hope you are all receiving the Northwest Quest newsletter that Frank Pichinini has been emailing- As you have seen, the Northwest Quest team are really excited about the Series and really are pulling all the stops out to provide a first class experience for us all!

Which leads me to two very cool events- Opening and Closing Cerermonies.
While Opening Ceremonies at the Seattle Center (Space Needle!) is going to be great, the Series 2008 Committee is providing an experience that we have not seen at any Series for Closing Ceremonies all day on Saturday, August 30th----This is a MUST ATTEND event! Please encourage your Series teams to attend both events which have taken a lot of hard work and effort to make happen!

Angela and Dani had a very productive visit to Seattle to layout the groundwork for the tournament and while we do have 2 field complexes to manage, they are working hard to ensure both venues are top notch with vendors, concessions and BEER!

Looks like we are well on our way to hosting a full tournament as we are now receiving petitions for cities to send more teams, and we might have some new cities checking out our event!

Commissioners Area: Kat is working with our webmaster on our database so stay tune for updates on this...

Don't think Angela forgot those Committee reports that were due in early May! After speaking with some folks, Angela decided to extend the due date until June 15th so look for an email on these reports shortly...We really need to stay engaged with our committees outside the meetings so we can be more time efficient and productive during the meetings- Thanks for your help with this!

That's the update for today! If you have any questions, comments, concerns, please email us!

Stacey

Message: Hey everyone!

We hope everyone's Springs seasons are off to a good start!

We are just hitting the 100 day mark before the Northwest Quest in Seattle! We are getting lots of hits on the Series Travel website and are just finalizing an agreement with American Airlines for ASANA air travel. Thank you for making your car rental reservations with Enterprise, and for stressing the importance of making hotel reservations with ASANA hotels.

The Board has been busy starting to get the details finalized for Seattle- Angela and Dani just returned from a scouting trip in Seattle and will be posting a summary shortly. The Host City is hard at work preparing for what we believe is going to be a GREAT 2008 Softball World Series for ASANA!

Kat is working on getting a new Player Database set up on the ASANA website...DIRT Athletics is working on getting more Series 2008 merchandise available in the next couple weeks, Cheryl is busy with making sure all of our documents and insurance are in order...Terri is still looking for new sponsors and Nina, well, Nina is always keeping tabs on our budget!

Angela has been working hard on making sure the ASANA Party on Thursday night at Neighbours is going to be one to be remembered...Leave it to Butterbean to plan our party! And she is also in charge of our field vendors and most importantly, working with Coors for our field beer gardens! Yes, she is very busy!

As for myself, I am working on trying to keep all of our ducks in a row! Can you make sure all of your local league websites have the correct link for our website (www.asanasoftball.com, NOT .org). We are having problems taking the .org down so don't link to that one! I've been working with the Seattle Storm to make sure we can sell lots of tickets for the Thursday game, and managing the hotel, air and car rental agreements.

Madison update: We are still finalizing the nitty gritty details of the Host City contract, otherwise the Madison Team is fired up and can't wait until Series 2009!

Thank you again for buying Miken balls! We bought over 230 dozen balls! Yahooooooooooo!

Don't forget to promote Out at Safeco event to see the Mariners play the Twins on Tuesday, August 26th! We need to make sure everyone orders tickets in advance- we will have VERY limited # of tickets on site.

If you have any questions, concerns, comments, please email us!

Happy May!
